About the Foundation

Since we launched in 2009, Alternative Source of Income Program (ASOIP) now LORDINA FOUNDATION, has focused on its primary objective which is to cater for destitute and vulnerable children and women (especially young women) so as to bridge the gap between the fortunate and the unfortunate, particularly in areas of education, healthcare and vocational training.

According to the Ghana Health Service, there are about 1.2 million orphans in Ghana with about 4,500 of these in orphanages.

However, though efforts have been made (and are still being made) to increase the numbers of homes to house these orphans, studies indicate that many of them are continually deprived of access to nutrition, education and healthcare.

It is based on statistics such as these that Lordina Foundation through its social intervention programme has taken the mantle to support and provide a bridge of hope to these defenceless children and women.

Looking back on 2013, we are moved by the resilience and resourcefulness of the people Lordina Foundation works with – not only the hardworking staff and volunteers, but also our diverse network of partners and supporters.

Despite a few challenges encountered, such as inadequate funds, the year 2013 was on a whole a very fruitful year.

Our sincere gratitude goes to our sponsors – Israel to all nations, Zoom Lion, Ghana Link, RLG Company,  K-Net Co. Ltd, Agricultural Development Bank, The Chinese Embassy, Latex Foam, Azar Co. Ltd, and all other anonymous donors for supporting us extensively and helping us meet most of our objectives.

We look forward to future contributions and support from you and all others who believe and wish to help our cause.
